As an alternative to the 1-day Qualified Peer Specialist Supervisors (QPSS) training, Via Hope will also offer a 2-day training option to organizations interested in going beyond the basic QPSS content. This 2-day workshop will address additional topics related to the implementation of peer services, (e.g. hiring practices, common HR scenarios, addressing organizational barriers) and dive a little deeper into supervisory practices. The 2-day workshop will meet requirements for the Qualified Peer Specialist Supervisor (QPSS) certification. However, the training is designed for a mixed audience to include people who are NOT in a direct supervisory role, such as non-peer professionals working alongside peer specialists and executive leaders working to strengthen the peer services program. The target audience for this workshop is not peer professionals, although a few peer workers often attend to participate in conversations about how peer work is being shaped at their organization.

Note: The content beyond the QPSS curriculum in this training will be similar to Via Hope's long-standing workshop: Demystifying the Peer Workforce.

This on site training opportunity will be available NO EARLIER THAN May 2019, so if you have individuals with an urgent need for the QPSS certification (for the purposes of using the new Peer Services code for Medicaid reimbursement), we recommend that you register for the one-day training in Austin to be offered routinely starting in April 2019.

This survey is intended to gauge interest in the 2-day on site training and help to coordinate available funding to cover the cost. Thanks for your interest and taking the time to answer a few quick questions. We look forward to working with you!
