Three great sessions sponsored by the Oregon Beef Council and the Washington State Beef Commission.

June 15: Family Meals with Beef for Baby -The American Academy of Pediatrics, WIC and, for the first time ever, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend nutrient-dense foods, such as beef, as complimentary first foods for infants for optimal nutrition. New research by Heather Leidy, PhD, and registered dietitians, Keith Ayoob, EdD, RDN and Marina Chaparro MPH, RDN, CDE, presented in a related on-demand webinar Growing Up Strong: Prioritizing Critical Nutrients from Birth to Adolescence will be translated into everyday meal solutions for families with early eaters. The Washington State Beef Commission will demonstrate several traditional family meals with beef as an ingredient that can be easily translated into feeding-stage appropriate baby meals. Proper preparation of beef for multiple feeding stages and focus specifically on how to prepare beef as a complimentary first food will be included. Live attendees will be eligible to win a NutriBullet Baby Food Blender!

June 22: Flavorful Meals with Beef - Exploring cultural flavors through modern cooking methods that make heritage recipes possible in the midst of today’s fast-paced lifestyle is inspired by Food Historian, Rachel Laudan, PhD, and Paleoanthropologist Briana Pobiner, PhD, who have prepared an On-Demand webinar Meat and the Human Diet: Tracing Our Evolutionary History and Today’s Cultural Significance. Their engaging On-Demand webinar will be translated into two beef recipes, deliciously demonstrated by the Washington State Beef Commission. Live attendees will be eligible to win an Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker!

June 29: Fabulous Frugal Meals with Beef - Sustainable nutrition is a hot topic. We will explore food waste reduction strategies and discuss the undeniable personal, social and environmental added value of upcycling beef leftovers into new meals. Research presented by Sara Place, PhD and registered dietitian, Amy Myrdal Miller, MS, RDN, FAND, in the On Demand webinar How Do We Feed the Future Without Eating the Planet? Examining the Human and Environmental Impacts of Beef Production inspired the menu choice of preparing a single budget-friendly beef cut that creates at least three meals.
