Hello! Thank you for your interest in the Central Region Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC).

What is the opportunity?

Ontario Health is an agency created by the Government of Ontario. We have a mandate to connect and coordinate our province’s health care system to help ensure that Ontarians receive the best possible care.

There are five geographic regions as part of Ontario Health. The regions are the ‘front door’ to communities and people across the province. Ontario Health Central is one of our five geographic regions. We serve 4.9 million people living in both fast-growing and diverse communities from Mississauga to Huntsville and Orangeville to Markham

We are creating a Patient & Family Advisory Council for Ontario Health Central.

We want to work with you so that we better understand your health care experiences, needs, and priorities.  You can play an important role in shaping how our province designs and delivers health care that meets the needs of your community and improves people’s healthcare experiences.

We need your help to do this work!

We are looking for 12-15 Ontarians from the Central Region.

We are looking for council members who represent our region’s diverse communities.
  • People who regularly use or support people who use the health system. For example: seeing your family doctor, receiving care for mental health or addictions, or being a patient or caregiver for someone in the hospital—in the last two years.
  • People who have some understanding of Ontario’s health-care system, and how the parts of the system connect to each other.
  • People who are interested in improving care for others in their community.
  • People who may be underserved by our current system. This will help ensure our health services meet the diverse needs and priorities of all Ontarians.
What do we need from you?
  • A three-year commitment.
  • Attendance at meetings (virtually or in-person) a minimum of six times per year. (Support will be provided to ensure you are able to attend meetings and participate fully).
  • An interest in collaborating with other patient advisors across the health system and participating in ongoing training and educational opportunities.
