a. Primary focus – Maths and English mentoring and tutoring, revision, and mock exams
b. Secondary focus – Additional GCSE subjects, 21st century skills, guest speakers, career support, personal development mentoring

* 7. Our volunteers and staff:
a. Our online platform and mentoring is designed by our own education team who support the volunteer mentors who work with students.
b. Students can book time with our mentors who volunteer their time to support our students.
c. All our volunteer and staff undergo One Degree mentor training, have an Enhanced DBS Check (Criminal Record Check) and adhere to safeguarding policies.
d. Our sessions are supported by safeguarding policies, child protection policies.
e. For the safety of students and mentors all mentoring sessions support automatic session recording.
f. Some sessions involve guest speakers and workshops to help with aspiration and inspiration.

a. One Degree will communicate with students via our own online platform.
b. Students should check the One Degree online platform for updates and messages.
c. Students can also message mentors privately within the online platform with any direct questions.
d. Students should not attempt to contact mentors outside of the One Degree online platform (for example via social media, email or phone).
e. The One Degree online platform must not be misused - it is not a platform to be disrespectful to other group members, to use abusive language, or to argue. Please consider all group members before posting. Not adhering to these group rules will not be tolerated and it may lead to the student being removed.

* 9. Equipment needed:
a. Students should have a lap top or computer available to use for online mentoring. It is also recommended to have headphones if possible.
b. Maths sessions – students are required to bring their own scientific calculator for Maths mentoring.
c. If you need any additional support with this, speak to your school.
d. Online sessions will require WiFi, camera and microphone to be working - otherwise mentoring will not be as successful

* 10. Attendance:
a. Students’ are expected to attend any booked online sessions.
b. Cannot attend a session: Please message your mentor if you have change of plans or can no longer attend a booked mentor session.
c. Rescheduling a session: Find the email notification with the details of the session you booked, click on the reschedule button and chose another date and time.

* 11. Being prepared:
a. Make sure your One Degree account has a clear profile photo of your face - this is needed for safety reasons.
b. Prepare the questions and help you need and send them to your mentor before your session
c. Use a laptop or desktop - open up another tab on the One Degree platform so you can keep one tab for your mentor meeting video call and another for browsing around for questions and resources when you need to.
d. Turn your camera and microphone on!
e. Ask your mentor questions, don’t be afraid to make mistakes (this really helps you learn and improve) and make the most of your 1-on-1 time with you mentor.
f. Thank your mentor – remember, they are volunteers!
g. After your sessions – practice what you have learnt and book more mentor sessions
h. If your mentor does not turn up for your mentoring session, message Roger via the One Degree online platform.

* 12. Discipline:
a. We reserve the right to ask any student to leave the programme at any time should we feel that they are not fully participating to the required programme standards. This includes lack of discipline, poor time-keeping or absence without notification, or disrespect to any other student or One Degree team-member.

* 13. Data and personal development:
a.      At the start and end of the programme all students will complete assessments and surveys to map their personal development over the course of the programme to gauge improvements in several areas.
b.      Some assessments will be anonymous when possible to gather an honest assessment. 
c.      One Degree will also compare school grades with One Degree lesson grades as well as GCSE exam grades to map improvements and provide these to your school.
d.      Any One Degree public programme reports will not show student names or details, only overviews and overall cohort summaries.

a.      One Degree is a small education charity that relies on donations, sponsors and volunteers to run our programmes. Please understand that our resources are limited, however we do invest highly into our chosen students. Please help us by maintaining mutual respect for the process and we will make every effort to make your programme a success.
