Brandon Barrios, the principle investigator of this study, is looking to better understand similarities and differences in cognitive performance in individuals with autism spectrum and obsessive-compulsive disorder. If you are selected to participate you will receive both a clinical and cognitive assessment to gather data in order to help elucidate these differences. Please note: You will not be compensated for the completion of this online screen.
In order to ensure that you are currently appropriate to participate, you will now need to answer a series of questions. These questions are geared to get basic demographic information about yourself (e.g. name, gender, age, level of education) as well as more sensitive questions in nature such as if you have a psychiatric diagnosis or have used illicit drugs in the last seven days.
Pleas note that all information is electronically encrypted as well as confidential, seen only by the principal investigator and his research team. Additionally, you are not obligated to answer any questions that you do not want to. However, the more information received will ensure as to whether you have met criteria and are eligible to participate. If you are deemed appropriate for the study, the information entered will be printed out and placed in a file kept in a locked filing cabinet behind a locked door at the Center for Autism Research Evaluation and Services (10065 Old Grove Rd, Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92131). All electronic information will be deleted immediately following the completion of this study.
