Presented by:  Chris Bell, ACNP Chris is a registered nurse & a board-certified acute care nurse practitioner who practices at Cardiology Associates of North Mississippi in Tupelo, Mississippi. His clinical expertise includes heart failure and arrhythmia management, multidisciplinary ICU experience, hemodynamic monitoring, the support and education of critically ill patients and their families, and monitoring protocol adherence.  Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from the University of Memphis in 1998. Wanting to further his education, he attended the University of Tennessee, graduating with his Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree in 2002. He conducted his clinical rotations in: cardiology (VA, Memphis, Tony Flemming, FNP), pulmonary/critical care (Baptist Memphis, Emmel Golden, MD), and emergency medicine (Baptist Oxford, Scott Sanford, MD). 
Target Audience:
This activity is intended for internal medicine, family medicine and primary care physicians and advance practice clinicians.

Learner outcome(s):

 1)  Self-report knowledge gain related to evidence based guidelines / standards of care for screening, implementation of preventive care, recognition, diagnosis, treatment and pharmacological management in the primary care setting. 

2)  Self-report an intent to change practice by following recommended guidelines / best practice in screening, referral and management of patients presenting to the primary care setting.

This activity consists of an educational component (slides, audio lecture) in an electronic format, followed by an online post-test and participant self-reflection / declaration of learning.  Estimated time to complete this activity, including review of materials is seventy five minutes.
