Terms and Conditions

Complete this form to register as an auditor in the Objectivist Academic Center's 3-Year Program in 2019-20.

Auditors may participate in live classes, access course recordings, and access the course website and assignments, but do not receive grades or other instructor feedback and are ineligible for benefits that graded students receive.

Auditors must begin with the first year of the OAC® 3-Year Program, which covers Objectivism in depth. Each subsequent year of the 3-Year Program builds on and assumes the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous year. Auditors must complete the registration each year to continue in the program.

The OAC requires familiarity with Rand’s ideas. To ensure you get the most out of your auditing experience, we recommend you have read the following before joining the OAC: The Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged, The Virtue of Selfishness, Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal, and Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand.

The OAC reserves the right to limit the level at which auditors are able to participate in live classes, including excluding auditors from select classes or from portions of classes, in order to preserve the experience for graded students and to protect the privacy of graded students when they are receiving individualized feedback from instructors on their work.

OAC auditors are bound by the terms of the OAC Student Handbook, including the Confidentiality Requirement and Code of Conduct, which will be sent to you prior to the start of classes. Violation of these terms may result in disciplinary action including removal from the OAC.

The OAC reserves the right to limit the number of auditors or to decline an auditor registration for any reason. In such instances, tuition refunds will be promptly provided.

Course Registration Options
Courses in the OAC build on one another and presuppose knowledge taught in prior courses. As such, it is only possible to audit Year 2 if one has completed Year 1, and having completed Year 2 is a prerequisite for auditing Year 3.

The 2019-20 OAC school year begins with an orientation the week of September 23, with classes beginning the week of September 30. Classes conclude in early April. The Year 2 Writing course only runs early November to mid-May.

Tuition
OAC auditor tuition is $2850 in 2019-20. Auditors in Year 2 can choose to audit only one of the two Year 2 courses, at the rate of $1425 per course. Graduates of the OAC 3-Year or 4-Year graded student program qualify for a 50% discount off the auditor tuition for any year of the OAC.

Tuition is paid at the conclusion of this registration form. All major credit cards are accepted. If you would like to inquire about payment by another method, please contact oac@aynrand.org.

Tuition Refund Policy
Those who exit the OAC within two weeks of the start of classes will be fully refunded minus a $50 administrative fee. Those who exit after the second week will be refunded according to the following schedule:

During third week 75%
During fourth week: 50%
During fifth week: 25%
After fifth week: no refund

Please allow up to 30 days for tuition refunds to be processed.
