Purpose of this CfE
The purpose of this Call for Evidence (CfE) is to gather views from industry to inform and assist the development of the Department for the Economy's (DfE) biomethane policy, specifically in relation to the level of oxygen content which should be permissible on the NI gas networks. The NI Transmission System Operators (TSOs) understand that DfE intend to consult on a ‘minded-to position’ in future, and responses to the CfE will help to inform this process. Information collated via this CfE will therefore be shared with DfE, as well as the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) and the Utility Regulator (UR).

Invitation to submit a response
The NI TSOs invite all interested stakeholders to respond to this CfE. It is open to private and public sector respondents, and we encourage participation by as broad a range of stakeholders as possible, including both existing and prospective transmission and distribution network users such as:

(i) biomethane producers;

(ii) gas consumers;

(iii) Shippers, and;

(iv) Relevant Equipment Suppliers.

Our aim is to ensure the views of all stakeholders are properly considered in progressing this matter.

Responses from any relevant stakeholders in GB and RoI, who are considering future connection to the ‘NI transmission system’, or who are already connected, are also welcomed and will be considered.

Confidentiality and Privacy Notice
The NI TSOs intend to share information such as contact details and survey responses gathered from this CfE with DfE, as well as HSENI, UR and other NI Gas Network Operators as appropriate, in order to inform governmental policy and/or (economic and/or safety) regulatory framework development.

If respondents consider that certain information is not to be disclosed because of its confidentiality or commercial sensitivity, respondents must, when providing such information, clearly identify such information and specify the reasons for its confidentiality or commercial sensitivity.

Once submitted, information cannot be recovered or amended due to the method of data collection and reporting. Information will be held securely for a maximum of 7 years from the close of the survey.

By submitting a response, you understand and agree that your responses to this survey will be recorded and cannot be deleted or withdrawn after submission.
