Strategic Agrochemical Review Process (SARP) - Nursery Industry Pest Priorities Survey 2017 |
Introduction
The purpose of this survey is to gain feedback on plant pest priorities within the nursery industry (excluding consumer products). This will allow industry to engage with manufacturers and importers on the future selection and prioritisation of new pesticides for introduction into Australia.
Currently new chemistry or products are often not introduced into Australia until between 10 – 20 years after approval and registration in USA and/or Europe. This survey information will provide industry with data to take to the National AgVet Forum and seek support from manufacturers and importers to fast track products for nursery production in Australia.
You will see in this document that there are spaces to rate the relative pest priorities, i.e. High, Moderate or Low.
Your comments are also important to highlight the regional, state or national significance, and particularly if there is any change to the status or control options for specific pests.
There is also space in the survey to add any disease, pest or weed not mentioned.
The information you provide along with other industry feedback will be used to add detail to the Nursery Strategic Agrochemical Review Process (SARP) for 2017.
