New Possibilities for Newmachar Library

The Newmachar Library building is a standalone facility that Aberdeenshire Council has proposed to close as part of a wider effort to reduce under‑used and costly buildings, with library services instead being relocated. Local residents concerned about reduced access and loss of community space have formed the Newmachar Culture and Learning Association to pursue a community asset transfer in hopes of retaining the library building for local use.

This is your opportunity to let us know what you think about taking the library building into community control and to help us plan in more detail what should be done with it. Your input will be used to guide our thinking and influence the development of the site to make sure it is of genuine community benefit.

Please take the time to make sure that your voice is heard. You can complete the survey online here, or paper copies of the survey can be provided.

Community Enterprise, who specialise in community assets, will be helping us to develop our plans. If you would like any further information or would like a paper copy of the survey, please contact Douglas by emailing douglas@communityenterprise.co.uk.

All information gathered will be confidential. All survey responses (including those collected on paper) are recorded on Survey Monkey: see SurveyMonkey's Privacy Policy and Community Enterprise's privacy policy.
