Welcome to the Newburgh Vision Plan Public Survey

The goal of this survey is to gather input from a diverse range of stakeholders in the Newburgh community. We hope to hear from residents, workers, property and business owners, representatives of community organizations, and anyone else who is interested in the future of the city. The survey will help frame the key challenges facing Newburgh today and in the coming years, as well as how members of the community envision the future of your city.

The survey is organized around the Vision Statement and seven topic areas from Plan-It Newburgh, the city’s 2008 Sustainable Master Plan. The seven topic areas are:

1.       Social Well-Being
2.       Governance
3.       Housing
4.       Natural Environment
5.       Economic Development
6.       Transportation
7.       Municipal Services

The content of the survey is similar to the interactive exercise at the first public workshop. This allows those who could not attend an opportunity to have your voice heard. For those who were at the workshop, this allows your feedback to be reinforced and gives you an opportunity to expand upon your input.

Each topic area has a series of three questions to help us understand how the goals should be revised and updated:

1.       Which goals do you think are most important to the future of Newburgh?
2.       Are any goals missing from the 2008 Master Plan?
3.       What strategies should be considered to help the community achieve these goals and implement the plan?

Individual responses are confidential—results of the survey will be tabulated and shared in summary form only. There are 35 questions, mostly multiple choice. The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete. The survey will close on June 30, 2018.
