Welcome to Wayne County Regional Educational Service Agency's Great Start Readiness!

Thank you for submitting an application to become a subrecipient of the Wayne County Regional Educational Service Agency (Wayne RESA) Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) grant. Many school districts and community based childcare organizations across Wayne County partner with us to provide high quality early childhood education to eligible preschool children. GSRP is a state funded preschool program for families with children who meet certain eligibility criteria. In order to be considered, a childcare center must be able to answer YES to the following questions:
My program has a...
1.  Great Start to Quality published star rating of 3 or higher;
2.  LARA issued license free of violations involving a child within the last 24 months;
3.  Licensed classroom that accommodates at least 16 four-year-old children;
4.  Food reimbursement program such as Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) or National School Lunch Program to help provide funding for meals;
5.  Four year old children enrolled whose total family income will qualify at or below 250% of poverty.
We strongly encourage you to browse over the GSRP Implementation Manual (Click the link): Implementation Manual. The manual identifies Michigan Department of Education requirements and responsibilities all Great Start Readiness Programs must meet to qualify for funding. Once you review the manual, we ask you to complete the attached application. Fully completed applications will be considered by the GSRP Funding Application Committee.
