Have your say: help make nature a regular part of every child’s education
The
Nature Premium Campaign
is calling for
regular and ongoing nature experiences for all children and young people
. The Nature Premium would provide funding for education settings to choose the nature experiences that best suit their children and young people - we define nature broadly including and not limited to gardening and food growing, conservation, tree planting, birdwatching, fishing, urban farms, Forest School, adventurous activities, pond dipping, beekeeping, permaculture, bioblitzing, healthy soils, sustainable living and more.
We know that Government finances are tight and it’s important to look for the ‘value for money’ of a new idea. That’s why we have been talking with the DfE about using the Government’s Green Book framework analysis (— the process used to assess new policy ideas) to assess the
Nature Premium proposal
.
To strengthen this analysis, we need input from
organisations across all sectors
— including education, health, environment, youth, outdoor learning, community, business and beyond. If your organisation values nature experiences for children and young people,
please complete our short survey
. Your responses will help demonstrate the breadth of support for the Nature Premium and will be
anonymized
and included as an appendix to the analysis.
Together, we can help ensure every child benefits from time in nature.
