The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 officially replaces the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2002 as the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965. ESSA provides increased opportunities for Native parents, tribal leaders, and school districts to work together on behalf of American Indian and Alaska Natives students.
Our district has been very fortunate to have positive working relationships with Native families and tribes over the years. We welcome the opportunity to formalize procedures and increase two-way communications at all levels.
