Is your son or daughter aged between 11 and 25 and has special educational needs? We would appreciate if you could take a few moments to fill out this survey.

National Star College, a national specialist college supporting young people with learning difficulties and physical disabilities, wants to understand how the new Children and Families Act is impacting on young people.

Children and Families Act

The Children and Families Act became law in September 2014. It introduced a single joined-up system from the ages of 0 to 25 so that education, health and social care departments would work more closely together.

New Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans will replace statements and Learning Difficulty Assessments. Local Authorities must publish a Local Offer which includes all the provision and support available in their local area and beyond.

We would like to understand how the new choices and rights to request a school/college placement are working in practice so that we can raise your concerns with government and local authorities.

If you have more than one child with SEN please complete one form per child.

Thank you for participating in this survey. All responses will remain confidential.
