Thank you for participating in this survey

This survey forms part of a National Benchmarking Project, aiming to achieve longitudinal benchmarking for the national public gallery sector.

This project will build on the data collected to date through the 2019 Regional Galleries Mapping & Needs Analysis Project. The results of this project are presented in the final Regional Galleries Mapping & Needs Analysis Project Report and this data contributed to the Australian Public Galleries Snapshot Report. These reports have caught the attention of government at all levels who, for the first time, are beginning to understand the extent and significance of the Australian public galleries sector.

The Benchmarking Survey expands upon the previous to capture more metro, outer metro and ARI galleries so that a  more complete set of data can be prepared to leverage an even greater appreciation of our sector and the benefits it delivers for WA communities. This survey will be repeated in 2021 to have comparative data to fully capture the impact of COVID-19 closures.

We know that you are all extremely busy recovering from this year’s major disruptions and that your time is precious. However, those same challenges make it more important than ever that we work strategically to generate a better understanding of the public galleries sector. A key learning from this work is that funding bodies love data and data is the most powerful way that we can make our case for support both individually and collectively.

The survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Survey closes 5pm Friday October 16 2020
