Charlotte Newborn, DSP, Residential Services
Charlotte is a wonderful employee that shows up for all clients that she works with. Charlotte has shown a fantastic attitude and work ethic at all sites that she has worked at. She shows respect to all clients and peers that she works alongside. Charlotte has always been flexible, hardworking, and takes our clients health and wellbeing very seriously. Charlotte has dedicated many years to Shore and has built strong and loving relationships with guardians and clients. She is a bright light at Shore and we are so lucky to have her!

Comfort Mallam, DSP, Residential Services
Comfort is being nominated in recognition of her outstanding dedication, teamwork, and continued commitment to supporting Shore homes. She consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and a willingness to go above and beyond whenever additional support is needed. Comfort is dependable, flexible, and always willing to volunteer or step up to assist the team, residents, and the overall needs of the program.

In addition to being a great team player, Comfort continues to work hard at developing her skills and growing professionally in her role. Her positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to learning make her a valuable member of the Shore team. Comfort’s dedication reflects the mission and values of Shore, and she is truly deserving of this recognition.

Daisy Bonea, Program Manager, CILA
Daisy is very passionate and caring. She always has a positive attitude and is very compassionate while caring for our clients.

Debbie Shulruf, Chief Quality Officer
Debbie has dedicated over 30 years of service to Shore. In her many roles, she will do anything to help her co-workers and the individuals we serve. Debbie's knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and CARF Standards are impressive. She has high standards and adhering to the aforementioned items is a driving force to help Shore achieve excellence in everything we do as an agency. Debbie will volunteer at special events and is not afraid to ask for donations and in-kind items for the silent auctions or raffles. She truly cares about our mission and is an ambassador for Shore.

Glen Tatsui, DSP, Lois Lloyd Center
I would like to nominate Glenn Tatsui for this award in recognition of the way he consistently embodies Shore’s core values of Inclusion, Health & Safety, Dignity, and Autonomy. Glenn approaches every day with a positive and professional mindset, supporting the individuals we serve with compassion, patience, and respect. He welcomes new challenges and new individuals into his space with warmth and encouragement, helping everyone feel included and valued.

Glenn also fosters an environment where laughter and positivity are part of the daily experience, which has a meaningful impact on both the people we support and his fellow team members. He is a steady and dependable presence who leads by example and remains deeply committed to Shore’s mission.

What stands out most is the way Glenn empowers the individuals we support to build independence and confidence. He consistently encourages autonomy while ensuring each person is treated with dignity and respect. Glenn is truly the embodiment of a dedicated professional, and we are incredibly fortunate to have him on our team.

Khiyona Winfert, DSP, Lois Lloyd Center
I would like to nominate Khiyona Winfert because she truly cares about the people she supports. She treats everyone with kindness, patience, and respect, and always makes sure they feel included and valued. I have seen her go above and beyond to help individuals feel comfortable, build confidence, and enjoy new experiences.

Khiyona does not just do her job. She builds relationships and takes the time to understand each person’s needs and strengths. The people she supports trust her because they know she genuinely cares about their wellbeing and happiness.

Her positive attitude, dedication, and compassion make a difference every day. She is an important part of our team and deserves recognition for the care and support she provides to adults with disabilities.

He helps when ever needed he has a great relationship with the guardians and residents at Brown. Again, he goes over and beyond.

Paul Plaisance, DSP, Residential Services
Paul P. is being nominated for his dedication, reliability, and strong commitment to supporting Shore homes. Paul consistently demonstrates teamwork, dependability, and a willingness to assist where needed. He is a hardworking staff member who understands the importance of providing consistent support to the residents and contributing positively to the team.

Paul’s work ethic and commitment to the program have made a meaningful impact. He is dependable, supportive, and willing to help ensure the homes continue to run smoothly. His contributions are appreciated, and his dedication to the residents, staff, and overall mission of Shore makes him deserve this nomination.

Renata Tragarz, Medical Liaison
"Renata always makes sure we are informed of (our son's) medical appointments. (He) talks about her so we know he likes her. She is very responsible and we feel confident that (he) is getting excellent care from the doctors he sees and from Renata. She’s terrific!!!"

"I have known Renata for almost 15 years. For Renata, working in this field is more than a job. Shore Community Services is her life and her passion. She dedicated 20 years of her life to make sure that residents are served with the respect, voice and best care they deserved. Renata is the best Medical Liaison, DSP and coworker who deserves to be nominated for the 2026 "Values in Action" Award."

Schöen Aldrich, Sr. Manager Home-Based Services
"I'm nominating Schöen because she models Shore values in both her work and her interactions with coworkers. As a new employee, it can be hard to find your place and Schöen has helped by being welcoming, inclusive, and collaborative as I've been figuring things out here. And above all, in Schöen's work, I see her illustrating Shore's values at a constant and exemplary level. She has to navigate so many challenges that come up in her area of our work: between families, and institutional bureaucracy, and other barriers, all while upholding the rights and well being of our clients being served most of all. When she speaks about one of the clients she works or what she is helping them with, I can hear how much she is prioritizing best practices and their best interest. She individualizes her approach to care and to finding solutions for her clients and their families, so that their dignity can be centered and so they can be empowered."

"I would like to nominate Schoen for this award in recognition of the compassion, professionalism, and dedication she brings to the families she serves. Navigating funding and home-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can be incredibly overwhelming for families, and Schoen has a remarkable ability to create calm out of chaos. She takes the time to truly understand each client’s unique needs and works thoughtfully to find individualized solutions.

What makes her especially exceptional is the personal connection she builds with families. Clients consistently express appreciation for how supported, heard, and valued they feel in working with her. Schoen combines deep knowledge of complex systems with genuine empathy, making an often stressful process feel manageable and personal. She is an incredible asset to both the families she serves and our organization."

Yolanda Rice, DSP, Shore Koenig Training Center
I am nominating Yolanda because we are so lucky to have her here! We could have 10 more Yolandas and it wouldn't be enough! Yolanda puts the care in caregiver and you can see that in everything she does and who she is. Yolanda approaches her work with positivity and enthusiasm, while also the correct amount of seriousness and attention. She is a natural leader and leads primarily by example, inspiring others to excel which increases how we can all promote Shore's values through our work. I always value Yolanda's input and opinions, and she has great insights into our clients and our work.
