Hollister School District, along with school districts across California, has been given a unique opportunity to improve the education program for our students. California is one of 45 states that have adopted the national Common Core Standards in Math and English Language Arts/Literacy. New standards in Science are on the horizon as well. Along with the change in standards, Governor Brown and the state legislature have radically changed the way schools are funded, giving more local control to districts in order to meet the needs of their students. This Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) will be fully funded over the next 8 years, and requires the district to develop a comprehensive plan, known as the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). Input from stakeholders is an integral part of developing the plan.
