One Department’s Assessment Journey: From Indifference to Invaluable |
This workshop is intended to chronicle the steps the Department of Communication Disorders has taken to move from the idea of programmatic assessment as un-meaningful busywork to an integral aspect of the ‘glue’ that keeps people in the department focused on optimal teaching and learning. Objectives of this workshop include:
· Analyze the attitudes of stakeholders toward general assessment relative to ones’ department/entity.
· Identify strategies and ideas to indicate the importance of assessment processes at the department/entity level.
· Identify sources/resources to align assessment criteria with curricula, standards, mission/vision, as well as faculty perceptions.
