Council is now inviting community feedback on the replacement of play equipment at Geraghty Park, Julatten.
The old play equipment at Geraghty Park is being upgraded as part of Council’s Parks and Open Spaces Strategy. The existing playground is at the end of useful life and will be removed. Council has funding through the Queensland Government Works for Queensland 2024-27 Program to construct a new playground or a pump track.
Only one “play option” can be built within the budget. Council is inviting residents and ratepayers in Mount Molloy and Julatten to vote for their preferred replacement “play option”.
Option 1 – New Playground – Modern, inclusive play space equipment; shade cloth covering; located on the southern side of Geraghty Park within the Oval.
Option 2 – Pump Track - Asphalt sealed pump track for unpowered bicycles & scooters; located on northern side Geraghty Park, not within the oval.
The designs for the new playground and pump track are shown on the next page.
The survey is open to all residents and ratepayers in Mount Molloy and Julatten and closes on closes on Sunday 7 September. Council will construct the “play option” that receives the highest number of votes in the survey.
