2027 NYCPG Annual Conference Workshop Speaker Proposal

Roadmap to Empowerment: Reducing Gambling Harms through Knowledge and Action.

The New York Council on Problem Gambling is announcing a call for workshop proposals for 2027 Annual Conference speakers!

With an average of approximately 300 attendees from across New York State representing prevention, treatment, and recovery services, the Annual Conference is a fantastic opportunity to share your expertise on gambling-related topics!

If you're interested in presenting at the 2027 Annual Conference, please review the criteria below and direct any questions to nycpgtraining@nycpg.org. If you would like additional information about the annual conference, you can find updates here.

Criteria for 2027 Annual Conference Speakers:
  • Preference given to NYS speakers, presentations, and topics demonstrating a strong application to NYS gambling-related topics.
  • NYCPG will waive the cost of registration if selected.
  • This is an in-person speaking engagement.
  • Dates for the conference are March 9th, 10th, and 11th, 2027.
  • Proposals must be submitted by end of day 10/4/2026.

Example of overview:
Designed for behavioral health professionals, this presentation provides tools for delivering culturally and clinically appropriate treatment for gambling disorder in inner-city populations. It explores how co-occurring trauma, financial hardship, systemic racism, and distrust of institutions impact treatment engagement. Participants will learn how to adapt CBT and Motivational Interviewing approaches and will walk away with strategies for building trust and providing trauma-informed care.(Required.)
