The district is collecting information from parents in order to create our plan for next fall. We are in the preliminary planning stages and still waiting for guidance from the Oregon Department of Education (ODE). This information is supposed to be released the week of June 5-9th.

* 9. Current guidelines from the Oregon Department of Education state that we can have no more than 250 people in a building. This means that we can not have all of our students together at one time.

We are also being told that whatever plan we develop for next year must be flexible. This means that when the Governor lifts the cap of 250 people in a group, we have a way to get everyone back to school on a routine immediately. It also means that if the Governor closes schools again, we have to be prepared to immediately implement distance learning. As you can imagine, this is a very challenging task.

We are exploring the idea of having students in "Pods" so we can limit any possible exposure or outbreak and also provide students with as much face-to-face learning time as possible.

We also know that families are trying to make plans/arrangements. These next questions will help guide the district in planning for the fall.

One option being considered is an "every other day" schedule. Students assigned to Pod A come to school Monday and Wednesday. Students in Pod B come to school Tuesday and Thursday. On days students are in the buildings they would remain there for the whole day. No one would attend school on Fridays. The days that students are not in the buildings would be time for online learning/supplemental activities/homework.

Las pautas actuales del Departamento de Educación de Oregón establecen que no podemos tener más de 250 personas en un edificio. Esto significa que no podemos tener a todos nuestros estudiantes juntos al mismo tiempo.

También se nos dice que cualquier plan que desarrollemos para el próximo año debe ser flexible. Como puedes imaginar, esta es una tarea muy desafiante.

Estamos explorando la idea de tener estudiantes en "Grupos" para que podamos limitar cualquier posible exposición o brote y también proporcionar a los estudiantes el mayor tiempo de aprendizaje presencial posible.

También sabemos que las familias están tratando de hacer planes / arreglos. Las siguientes preguntas ayudarán a guiar al distrito en la planificación del otoño.

Una opción que se está considerando es un horario de "días alternos". Los estudiantes asignados a Grupo A vienen a la escuela los lunes y miércoles. Los estudiantes en el Grupo B vienen a la escuela los martes y jueves. Los días que los estudiantes están en los edificios, permanecen allí durante todo el día. Nadie asistiría a la escuela los viernes. Los días que los estudiantes no están en los edificios serían tiempo para el aprendizaje en línea / actividades suplementarias / tarea.
