About the Conference

The planning committee for the annual Northwest Women’s Studies Association Conference is now accepting proposals for presentations by students, staff, and faculty. The theme of the 2013 conference, held on April 6, 2013, at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, is “Faces of Feminism: From Furious to Funny!”

Conference topics relevant to this broad theme include, but are not limited to, feminism and comic relief, feminist comedy, feminist art, performance art, and literature, feminism and popular culture, girl power, feminist media, feminism on campus, and feminist theorizing and organizing across borders.

We welcome proposals from across disciplines and interdisciplines that address specific aspects of this broad theme and/or related topics. However, all proposals related to women, gender, and sexuality will be considered and proposals from undergraduate and graduate students are particularly encouraged. Presentation formats considered include traditional academic papers, panel discussions, and performances and readings of creative work(s).

Proposal deadline is Monday, January 28, 2013
