Health & Wellness Ambassadors are residents of the Westlawn Choice Neighborhood (From Sherman Blvd, west to 76th, Villard, north to Mill Rd.) who have voluntarily chosen to serve an important role in their communities. This position is a voluntary, 10-hour a month maximum commitment. The position has a stipend to compensate for time and efforts:

▫ Ambassadors are eligible to receive $25 per pre-scheduled Best Babies Zone meeting and reimbursement for childcare and transportation during Best Babies Zone meeting times.

▫ Ambassadors are also eligible for an additional $50 per month upon completion of a monthly activity log of their participation or leadership in other health & wellness committees, coalitions, groups, etc. that are aligned with the goals or strategies of Best Babies Zone Westlawn.

Stipends are guaranteed through March 2020. Funding options for continuing stipends into 2020 are being explored.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
▫   Engage residents in ongoing health and wellness initiatives inside and outside of the community
▫   Develop and strengthen positive relationships with local residents, and serve as a connector between residents and community resources
▫   Support and empower local residents in creating and sustaining their visions for a healthy community, such as promoting community conversations or organizing play groups

Qualifications
▫   Must be at least 16 years old to apply
▫   Must live in Westlawn Choice Neighborhood to be considered (Will also consider individuals who work, volunteer or invest in the neighborhood but do not live in zone specifically)
▫   Has general interest in community development and health & wellness work
▫   Shows effective and respectful communication
▫   Has ability to take initiative and work as a part of a team
