Route 115 (Natural Bridge Rd.) Safety and Operation Improvements

Safety and Operational Improvements from Lucas & Hunt Rd. to St. Louis City Limits

The Route 115 (Natural Bridge Rd.) project improves the aging pavement and pedestrian facilities along the corridor from Lucas & Hunt Rd. to the St Louis city limits. During construction, MoDOT crews discovered an issue that could delay completion of the project.

Improvements to this portion of the corridor will include:
  • Pavement resurfacing and new pavement markings
  • Upgrading the existing sidewalks and curb ramps to meet ADA requirements
  • Replacing several existing entrances to improve the pedestrian walking paths to meet ADA requirements
  • Adding additional midblock crossings and bumpouts (extends the width of the sidewalk and curb line at crosswalks and other locations to keep pedestrians safer)
  • Adding additional lighting for the Pine Lawn area of the corridor
  • Adding Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs)
