Community Survey - City Use of Funds from American Rescue Plan |
Introduction
In early-2021, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to provide considerable Federal Resources across a variety of Federal, State, Local, and private programs to respond to challenges created by the COVID Pandemic. The City of Rocky Mount received an appropriation from ARPA of $11,521,180 through the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF). As of 6/30/2022, City Council had authorized the allocation and expenditure of $6,267,958 of these funds for the following purposes:
- $1,267,958 for COVID Premium Pay for City Employees
- $3,000,000 for Affordable Housing
- $2,000,000 for Downtown Development
The City is now evaluating how to best utilize the remaining $5,253,222 of the available funding from SLFRF. This includes providing a series of public engagement activities to encourage and receive comments and ideas from City residents. The following survey is intended to provide residents with an outlet to express their thoughts on the prioritization and utilization of remaining funds.
