Our communities have been impacted by floods, hurricanes, thunderstorms, tornadoes, winter storms, droughts, wildfires, earthquakes, and landslides. These natural hazards destroy property, cause power outages, block roads, and threaten lives.
A Hazard Mitigation Plan is a tool that helps a community to understand risks and to take specific steps to reduce property damage, injury, and loss of life. The Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments (NVCOG) is in the process of developing its first multi-jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan covering the 19 member municipalities. This plan will incorporate existing multi-jurisdiction and single-jurisdiction hazard mitigation plans.
We want to hear from YOU - the residents, workers, and members of our communities.
Please share your ideas for the plans using the following survey.
The survey has 20 questions and is estimated to take no more than 15 minutes. Only 3 questions require answers - you may skip any others you wish.
