I'm Lyndall Murray, a Local Government Councillor for the Richmond Valley. I'm conducting my own research to learn more about your experiences during the flood recovery of 2022, with a particular focus on how you've navigated the NSW RA Resilient Homes Grants process over the past 3 years.
As many know in October 2022 then CEO of the Northern Rivers Reconstruction Corporation David Witherden promised $790M of Resilient Homes Grants (today the funding pool is $880M), he said back then "there'll be about 2,000 buy-backs, 2,000 house raises and more than 2,000 retro refits."
As at December 2024, 16 reported house raise and retro refits had been completed amounting to no more than $1.6M of the resilient homes grants funding pool.
