2019 Nurse Tank Safety Training Survey |
The Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers (CAAR) is looking to host multiple in-person Nurse Tank Safety Training (NTSP) courses in 2019 if there is sufficient demand. Please complete the short survey below if you are interested in completing the NTSP course.
The Nurse Tank Safety Training course outlines the requirements an agri-retailer must meet to operate as a Transport Canada Registered Facility to inspect, test and retest anhydrous ammonia nurse tanks under the CSA B620 Safety Standard. The course is based on the Nurse Tank Safety Council of Canada’s Quality Control Manual – a Transport Canada reviewed document outlining the procedures for hydrotesting and visual inspection of nurse tanks, and how to register as a Transport Canada Registered Facility. All participants will receive a three (3) year certification or re-certification on the contents of the Quality Control Manual upon completion.
The Nurse Tank Safety Training course will include a hands-on component for hydrotesting and visual inspection, as well as classroom learning on the contents of the Quality Control Manual, but this course does not meet all of the experience and education requirements mandated by Transport Canada to be eligible as a Registered Facility. Participants are strongly encouraged to review the CSA B620 Standards – particularly Parts 8.1.6 and 8.1.7 – to ensure Facility Registration is the right choice for your business.
