About the City of Fredericton's Intercultural Awards

The City of Fredericton’s Intercultural Awards are given to an individual and to a group, organization or business that has demonstrated a sustained commitment and effort to enhance Fredericton’s cultural diversity, to promote interculturalism, to help combat prejudice, and/or to assist newcomers and immigrants in integrating to life in the community. If you know someone who you think is deserving of an Intercultural Award, please nominate him/her/them by filling out this form.

Nomination and Award Process

Please make sure your nomination meets the following criteria:
  • The efforts for which you nominate a candidate must take place within the boundaries of the City of Fredericton.
  • Self nominations will not be accepted.
  • Any publicized donations will not be accepted as support for a nomination.
  • Nominations can be offered by any interested party excluding family members of the nominee.
  • Nominations are to be submitted using this electronic form (for a printed form, call 471-3694 or check the City's website under Awards). 
  • Nomination deadline: Friday, October 2, 2020 at 8 am.
  • Nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee appointed by the City.
  • The decision of the committee is final and cannot be revisited.
  • The award recipients will be contacted by the City, and a date will be set for the awards presentation at a virtual session of City Council in the fall (the exact date will be announced later).
