Question Title

* If you have an F&C related query, the F&C pages on the AFF website should always be your first point of call where you may be able to find the solution.

AFF's Foreign & Commonwealth Assistant, Jessica Harriman is available Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm. If your query is more urgent, please visit the gov.uk website where you may be able to access a government approved advisor who can meet a tight deadline. Please note, there may be a charge for this service.

If contacting our F&C advisors please have ready the following:

Telephone number
Enquiry details
Copy of visa or letter from Home Office
Personal details i.e. length of Service of soldier or date of discharge, date when soldier naturalised, date when spouse/child entered the UK, place of birth of children etc.
Any deadline dates

If you don’t provide as much information as possible it will take longer to receive the advice or information that you need. If necessary we will phone you, but we prefer to communicate via email so that we have a record of all advice given. We kindly but firmly request that you do not attempt to chase a response to your enquiry unless our response is outside the 10 working days or you are about to be deported.

AFF is a charity, we are not part of a government department, and our qualified Foreign and Commonwealth Advisors work part time only to offer you free immigration advice. AFF is authorised by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner to provide immigration advice up to Level 2. They are the only people at AFF qualified to provide advice on issues of citizenship and visas. AFF local Co-ordinators and central office staff are not in a position to assist you in these matters.

Due to the high volume of enquiries your query may take up to 10 working days to respond to.
