Downtown Location

For purposes of this survey, Downtown Orinda includes the Village and Theatre Districts which are primarily characterized by commercial and office uses. In addition, these areas contain:
  • Public Facilities: the Community Park, Pine Grove Playfields, the "mini park" at Brookwood and Camino Pablo, the Library and adjacent plaza, the Community Center, and City Hall;
  • Senior Housing: Monteverde and Orinda Senior Village;
  • Churches: Orinda Community Church, Santa Maria Church, and the Christian Science Church; and
  • San Pablo Creek. 
Downtown also includes the area between the two downtown districts: the freeway, BART station and BART parking lots, and the roads, walkways and bike paths that connect BART and the two sides of downtown.
