Overview and Eligibility

The Commissioned Officers Association (COA) of the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) Congressional Public Health Leadership Award was established in 2014 to recognize United States Members of Congress who by their actions have improved the health and safety of our Nation and/or the USPHS Commissioned Corps. The Members of Congress nominated for this award must have demonstrated leadership, excellence and acted “above and beyond” the call of their profession.

· Current or former members of the U.S. House of Representatives or U.S. Senate.

Nomination Criteria:
Nominations shall describe how the candidate has met one or more of the following criteria:
· Contributions must support achieving the mission of the Corps
· Contributions must demonstrate a benefit to their Corps colleagues
· Contributions may be sustained over a career or represent a single noteworthy action

Deadline: December 31 each year.
