2026 CleONS Student Nurse Scholarship

Purpose
The purpose of this award is to provide scholarships to students pursuing a basic nursing degree and who are interested in oncology nursing.

The award recipient will be announced at the CleONS Fall Conference held on Saturday, November 7, 2026.

Award
$1000 scholarship and a certificate of recognition

A tuition bill (or combination of bills) totaling the amount of your award will be required prior to disbursement.

Qualifications
To be eligible for this award, the nominee must be:

A student pursuing a basic degree in nursing
Enrolled in a basic nursing degree program for the current academic year
A current member of ONS National and CleONS
Has a CleONS mentor
Has attended a CleONS dinner meeting prior to the application (preferred for 2026 applications)
Willing to give a 10-minute presentation with your CleONS Mentor at a 2027 CleONS dinner meeting on an oncology nursing topic of interest
Has not won this award in the past

Selection and Scoring
Please note: Applications will receive a reduced score if there is evidence that AI tools were used to generate any portion of this application. Scoring and selection will be based on the following criteria:

Essay responses are expected to reflect high-quality writing, including proper grammar, punctuation, syntax, and clarity. Applicants should provide a thorough, well-considered answer and make full use of the allotted word count.
Strong interest in oncology nursing will positively impact application scoring.
Letter of recommendation from school faculty or advisor
Letter of support from CleONS mentor
