News Literacy Educator of the Year 2022

The News Literacy Educator of the Year demonstrates a commitment to integrating the News Literacy Project’s resources and news literacy skills and concepts into the curriculum. Their students learn to apply these skills inside the classroom and in their daily lives.

The awardee reflects this commitment through news literacy education efforts that include:

•    Integrating meaningful, engaging and authentic activities into the curriculum that allow students to learn news literacy skills and apply them throughout the school year.

•    Collaborating with other educators to engage students in news literacy skills in other subject areas.

•    Being passionate about, and an active advocate for, news literacy education.

Open to residents of the United States, including Washington, D.C., U.S. territories, and AA/AE/AP, the awardee will receive a plaque, a $500 honorarium and an invitation to be honored at a special event in June. Educators may self-nominate.
