It has been over five years since the League of Women Voters (LWV) conducted a survey of areas of interest across the entire Orange-Durham-Chatham membership. The political environment, state, local, and national events, and voting challenges have changed significantly since we last polled our community, so we think it is time to refresh our knowledge of members’ interests. We recognize that those of you who have joined LWV in the last several months may have provided some of this information when you enrolled; however, we would like to capture a complete snapshot of all current member interests at this time.
Your LWV is organized at three levels: National (LWVUS), State (LWVNC), and Local (LWVODC). Some Local chapters like ODC are made up of multiple counties. To accommodate local election patterns and member convenience, these chapters are further divided into County Units. There are multiple ways to be involved with the League at all levels. Members may be involved with issue-oriented action teams at the state and ODC levels. Social and educational programs and voter services projects are typically conducted at the ODC and county levels.
