FSAI Public Consultation - Guidance on the use of General Non-Specific Health Claims on Foods

Consultation details:

The FSAI are seeking feedback from Food Business Operators (FBOs) on draft guidance intended to support food business operators in understanding and applying the requirements of Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006, specifically in relation to the use of general, non‑specific health claims.

This consultation is open to Food Business Operators only. Please ensure to read the guidance before completing the survey.

This guidance was developed in collaboration with representation from the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI), the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM), and the National Environmental Health Service (NEHS) of the Health Service Executive (HSE). This annex provides guidance on the appropriate use of general non-specific health claims in line with Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006. It supports Food Business Operators (FBOs) in understanding how such claims can be used in compliance with Regulations on food products.

Your feedback will help us refine this guidance to ensure it is as clear and practical as possible. While we will carefully consider all responses, we may not be able to incorporate every suggestion. All comments may not be reflected in the final version.
