"Food Safety 101" Training Application

The “Food Safety 101” training program is designed to educate older adults about the basics of food safety and to empower older adults to follow the steps needed to prevent foodborne illness in their home.  A trained FSIS Ambassador will deliver this one-hour training program.    

The “Food Safety 101” training program will be held in five to ten selected senior center sites using diverse senior center programming.   Although there isn’t direct senior center funding in this proposal, each selected site will receive the training program, a qualified trainer and a variety of resources for participants.  
 
To apply a site must be within 50 miles (one way) of one of the following FSIS district offices:  Springdale, AR; Alameda, CA; Denver, CO; Atlanta or Athens, GA; Chicago or Lombard, IL; Des Moines, IA; Ridgeland, MS; St. Louis, MO; Manchester, NH; Queens (NYC) NY; Raleigh, NC; Philadelphia, PA; Dallas, Houston or San Antonio, TX; Washington DC area (Maryland, Virginia, DC).
