Have you used Class B Firefighting Foam(s)?

10% of survey complete.
Class B firefighting foams serve a vital role in protection against flammable liquid fires. At the same time these foams may contain ingredients such as fluorosurfactants that can impact the environment.

In the wake of the discovery of perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) in drinking water wells at the Pease International Tradeport and other locations in our state, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) has been working to understand the various potential sources and extent of impact from PFCs. One potential source is the use of certain formulations of Class B firefighting foams.

This survey has been designed specifically for NHDES to begin to work with emergency response agencies and municipalities to address and better understand the use and the environmental concerns associated with Class B fire fighting foams across our State.

If you have any questions or comments regarding this survey, or have additional information to provide to NHDES please contact Amy Doherty by phone or email at 603-271-1169 or Amy.Doherty@des.nh.gov.
