National Health Center Immigration Workgroup

CPCA, along with Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO) and the National Immigration Law Center (NILC), co-lead the National Health Center Immigration Workgroup (NHCIW) which aims to help align the community health center (CHC) voice nationally around immigrant health justice issues. We receive tremendous support from Colleen Meiman, National Policy Advisor for State Associations of Community Health Centers, and we encourage all primary care associations (PCAs), CHCs, and clinics to join.
Goals of the National Health Center Immigration Workgroup:

  • Provide education for CHCs and PCAs about policy changes impacting immigrant patients, including strategies and tactics for responding.
  • Strengthen, align, and coordinate advocacy efforts in support of immigrant patients, and identify opportunities for engagement.
  • Provide a collective, safe space for resource and information sharing to support CHCs and PCAs in responding to the changing immigration policy landscape, and inform advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels.
