Dear NHAAN Applicant,

The National HIV Aging & Advocacy Network (the "Network" or "NHAAN") is a network of individuals who advocate for people with HIV. We envision a world where individuals with HIV age gracefully, encompassing physical, social, financial, spiritual, and emotional well-being across all facets of their lives. The Network is a non-incorporated undertaking by NMAC's 50+ Strong and Health Program.

Our objectives are to:
  • Support policies, programs, and services that improve the lives of older people living with HIV/AIDS by improving their physical, emotional, and financial health.
  • Advocate for policies, programs, and services that specifically address HIV long-term survivors of trauma and other physical and mental health conditions.
  • Educate and inform about topics such as the difficulties faced by those aging with HIV, ways to take care of themselves, peer support, available services, resources, events to connect socially, and job opportunities; and
  • Collaborate with other policy advocates and organizations to promote policies that support economic and social justice for older adults living with HIV/AIDS, including support for the National HIV/AIDS Strategic Plan, the Older Americans Act, the Ryan White Care Act, and other federal initiatives to serve the unique needs of older persons with HIV.
Membership is open to:
  • Individuals, NOT organizations
  • Individuals living and aging with HIV/AIDS, specifically:
    • Lifetime Survivor or Dandelion
    • Long-Term Survivors
    • People age 50+ and living with HIV
    • People who identify as “long-haulers” and have been living with HIV for 10 years or more
