Background

The Education Authority Launched a Pilot 'Network for Youth' initiative in October 2016.

The Network for Youth is a model for strengthening participation in the youth service at a local, sub-regional and regional levels; and is being lead by the NI Youth Forum in partnership with Youth Action NI; Young Farmers Clubs of Ulster; Include Youth and Fóram na nÓg. The Network for Youth is open to and inclusive of Participation Structures from across the voluntary and controlled youth service.

The questionnaire has been designed to help us to establish a baseline of youth participation structures within the EA funded youth work sector. When we make reference to a youth participation structure we mean a Youth Forum; Youth Council or group that involves young people in the decision making process.

The last major audit of youth participation in NI was carried out in 2009 as part of The Big Deal Programme.

The Audit will help us to work together across the youth work sector; connect pockets of good practice and celebrate young people's achievements.

It is our intention to showcase this work via our Participation Hub web page, which is being developed.

All participants who complete this form will be entered into a draw for £50 of Amazon vouchers.

When the questionnaire is completed, the results of the audit, will be published on the participation hub page on Norther Ireland Youth Forums website.

If you have any queries please contact Natalie Corbett at NIYF on 028 90331990
