Women in STEM Mentor Application 2019-2020

This program is designed to encourage the retention of women in science, technology, engineering, and math through academic and personal support. As a WiSTEM mentor, you will promote the interests and confidence of women undergraduates here at UConn in their pursuit of success in STEM majors. As an experienced woman in STEM, your mentorship will provide your mentee with a phenomenal resource for advice, support, and information.



Qualifications:

· Be a current UConn undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior woman who will be enrolled on the Storrs campus for the entire Fall 2018/Spring 2019 academic year.

· Must have a major in the STEM fields.

· Must demonstrate a continued interest in pursuing a major/career in the STEM fields.

· Must show progress towards academic excellence.

· Must be committed to assisting and spending time with your mentee(s).

· Must be able to attend a 3-hour long mentor training workshop on 10/6/18 (location and time TBD).
