Clinical Trials and Neuroendocrine Tumour (NET) Patients

The Unicorn Foundation wants to see more clinical trials open for NET patients. We also want to understand what barriers stop people from participating in them. Your responses to this survey will help us work with our partners to achieve this and we value your input.
You will probably already have some ideas about clinical trials and we’ll explain more as you work your way through the survey.
1.Are you over the age of 18+
2.What is your gender?
3.Which state or Territory do you live in?
4.Do you live?
5.Do you know where your primary tumour is located?
6.Do you know the grade of your tumour?
7.Do you know what a clinical trial is?
8.Have you participated in a clinical trial?
9.If yes, did you feel well supported within the trial (tick as many as appropriate)?
10.If you didn't feel supported, what were the main challenges (tick as many as appropriate)?
11."Clinical trials are research investigations in which people volunteer to test new treatments, interventions or tests as a means to prevent, detect, treat or manage various diseases or medical conditions. Some investigations look at how people respond to a new intervention* and what side effects might occur. This helps to determine if a new intervention works, if it is safe, and if it is better than the interventions that are already available.

Clinical trials might also compare existing interventions, test new ways to use or combine existing interventions or observe how people respond to other factors that might affect their health (such as dietary changes)."

Based on this definition would you participate in a clinical trial?
12.What would influence your decision TO participate in a clinical trial (tick as many as appropriate)?
13.What would influence your decision to NOT participate in a clinical trial (tick as many as appropriate)?
14.Have you ever searched for a trial?
15.If yes, where did you look?
16.Would you like to know more about the purpose of clinical trials?
17.How would you prefer to receive information about NET clinical trials that may be suitable for you (tick as many as appropriate)?
