2022 Annual NABITA Conference | Monday, November 14 - Wednesday, November 16, 2022

This award is intended to recognize a practice or program that can be modeled by other institutions as a best practice and has been shown to have significant evidence-based impact on the originating institution. These practices or programs can be those that are specific to the functioning of a BIT or which serve to educate, provide interventions for, or reduce risk among target populations.

Application and Nomination Process

Practices and programs that have been in existence for at least six months at the time of submission are eligible for consideration. Applications/nominations are submitted through a written statement, not to exceed 1000 words, that addresses the following as applicable to the specific practice or program:
  1. A description of the practice or program.
  2. How it was implemented, such as:
    • Needs assessments, data analysis or self-studies done prior to the program or practice design
    • Partnerships or collaborations amongst departments or outside entities
    • Costs
    • Plans for sustainability of the practice or program
    • Advertising methods (Include copies of fliers or ads. These will not be counted within the word limits of the written statement.)
    • Photos of any events or copies of any forms, processes or flow charts that help better describe the program or practice (These are not counted within the word limits of the written statement.)
    • Training opportunities (if applicable)
  3.  A description of the target population impacted and rationale for the population’s inclusion as it relates to the institution.
  4. A bibliography of previous research on the practice or program type or the target population that supported the practice or program design if any exists. Research published in peer-reviewed journals will be given heavier weight. This does not negate the impact of groundbreaking programs, practices or new research conducted over the course of the practice or program’s development. The bibliography will be not counted within the word limits of the written statement.
  5. The methodology used to measure the impact of the program and how the results of any data gathered were used to improve the program.
Practices and programs may be nominated or program directors may submit an application on the program’s behalf. The selected institution’s team will be honored at the Conference and will receive a token worthy of display at the institution.

Application deadline is Friday, September 30, 2022. Notifications of acceptance/rejection will go out electronically by Friday, October 14, 2022.
