Niagara County is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan. We need input from residents and stakeholders across Niagara County.

Please use this form to provide feedback on the Draft Plan (available at niagara.mitigateny.org). The plan includes separate sections for each municipality that can be accessed by a dropdown menu in the top right panel.

How to Navigate the Plan
The site is organized into five separate chapters that can be accessed from the top panel (Home, Planning Process, Hazards, Risk, Strategies). There is a panel on the left of each page that you can click to get to separate sections within each chapter.
The site has a drop-down menu in the top right to navigate to each municipality’s jurisdictional annex, which includes the county plan, with some information unique to each municipality

Niagara County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan must be approved by FEMA for the County and its towns, cities, and villages to be eligible for FEMA grants. Niagara County is one of the first counties across New York to create a hazard mitigation plan using MitigateNY, a new online hazard mitigation planning platform developed by New York State’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (NYSDHSES) and the University at Albany’s Visualization and Informatics Laboratory (AVAIL).
