Volunteer to be a voice for your community!

How do you get around North Beacon Hill? Do you have ideas on how to make it easier and more enjoyable to walk, bike, take transit, or drive around the Beacon Hill Light Rail Station neighborhood?

Seattle Department of Transportation is looking for Community Youth Volunteers like you to advise and be a voice on the North Beacon Hill Station Access and Mobility Study (NBH SAMS).  If you are ages 16-21 and are interested in how to improve getting around your neighborhood, apply to be a Community Youth Volunteer!  We strongly encourage you to apply if you speak one or more of these languages:
  • Spanish
  • Tagalog
  • Vietnamese
  • Mandarin
  • Cantonese
  • Japanese
  • Somali
You will have a chance to work with other youths, residents, business owners, and transportation advocates who are as passionate about the community as you are! We will also have leadership training* that will be catered to the interests of this cohort.  Help us shape transportation projects that improve safety and travel while contributing to North Beacon Hill’s livability and sense of place for people of ALL ages and abilities, color, creed, and background!
