Have your say: Royal Commission into Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence

LGA South Australia is preparing a submission for the Royal Commission into Domestic, Family, and Sexual Violence and is inviting councils to contribute. We are seeking feedback on the following questions to help inform our position.
1.What existing initiatives at your council are directed at addressing the attitudes and systems that drive domestic, family and sexual violence? Are they effective?(Required.)
2.What resources, programs or activities currently does your council provide to support members of your community impacted by family and domestic violence?

This may include:
  • projects that promote gender equality and/or gender equity
  • changes to policies or procedures
  • activities undertaken in community centres
  • activities targeted to particular cohorts in your community

3.What further resources would you need to help your council deliver, partner or lead gender equality and prevent family and domestic violence in the community?(Required.)
4.The LGA is seeking good practice examples and case studies to support our submission for the Royal Commission.

These could be related to:
  • prevention
  • early intervention
  • response
  • recovery and healing
  • coordination
