PRESENTER IDENTITY AND EXPERIENCE POLICY
To ensure the authenticity and credibility of presentations across all programming, including Continuing Education, we have established guidelines regarding the identity and experience of presenters. This policy is designed to uphold the integrity and relevance of content, reflecting the diverse lived experiences of social workers and the communities they serve.

Policy Statement: In alignment with our commitment to genuine representation and effective Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and Anti-Racism education, all presentations within these program areas must be led by individuals who possess both professional expertise and direct lived experience with the populations being discussed. This includes, but is not limited to, considerations of race, ethnicity, age, sexuality, gender, immigration status, ability, class, and religion. To ensure this standard, presenters are required to submit a positionality statement that highlights their relationship to their various identities.

Guidelines:
1. Direct Experience Requirement: Presenters must have direct, lived experience related to the specific area they are addressing. For example, individuals presenting on issues of racism must be from a racially or ethnically diverse community and have lived experience with racism or prejudice.
Co-Presentations: If you do not personally meet the criteria outlined above but have relevant professional expertise, you are encouraged to collaborate with a colleague who does meet the criteria. This ensures that presentations are both professionally informed and authentically representative.
2. Professional Expertise: In addition to lived experience, presenters must also have relevant professional practice experience in the area they are discussing. This ensures a comprehensive, informed, and applicable presentation.
