INTRODUCTION

This survey is part of the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) project to review and update the Professional Competencies for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians at Entry to Practice in Canada (i.e., ETP competencies) to ensure that they clearly reflect the knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes and judgments required for safe and effective practice of pharmacy professionals. The ETP competencies are meant to serve as the basis for the development of national pharmacy licensing examinations, educational outcomes for pharmacy educational programs, as well as assessment tools for pharmacy regulatory authorities. They also serve as a valuable resource for pharmacy professional candidates, pharmacy professionals, and the public.

NAPRA began a review of the ETP competencies in mid-2022 and has developed a revised draft of the competencies with the help of a working group comprised of practising pharmacy professionals, representatives of pharmacy regulatory authorities, as well as representatives from relevant external organizations with a role in education or assessment of pharmacy professional candidates. Your survey participation is crucial for establishing the validity of the updates and revisions that are being considered for the ETP competencies.

The survey will take approximately 30 - 45 minutes to complete. In appreciation of your effort, NAPRA will enter your name into a draw for $300. To be eligible for the draw, you must complete all questions in this survey and provide your name and contact information at the end.

This survey is run by a third-party organization that will report the results back to NAPRA in an aggregated form. The survey may be completed in more than one sitting. Your responses are saved automatically as you go through the survey. If you are interrupted, you can resume the survey at a later time.

The survey closing date is December 22, 2023.
